A Palladian country house seen across a striped lawn

Trusted counsel for exceptional houses – from first estimate to final account.

Wiltshire & Cotswold Offices

As chartered quantity surveyors, project managers and design consultants, we bring together exceptional designers, artisans and craftspeople for private clients with ambitious plans — representing their interests at every stage, with the close, personal attention of a family practice.

The Practice
Est. 1945

Founded by two Royal Engineers, Dadson and Butler remains entirely family owned, led today by James and Christopher Workman. Eight decades on, the practice is defined by the same qualities: rigour, integrity and an instinct for detail.

Our work spans classical country houses, contemporary homes, and the gardens, outbuildings and estates around them. Long-standing relationships with leading designers, engineers and contractors allow us to protect our clients’ interests while helping them realise their vision — on time, within budget and to the highest standard.

Purpose

To bring ambitious projects to life with clarity, control and care, from first sketch to completion.

Directors personally involved in every commission. Modern rigour, with old-fashioned courtesy and respect.

Values

Integrity, continuity, discretion and transparency — family values, held since 1945.
